How to Search VSCO, Linktree and Discord Users Without an Account

Three popular platforms make it deliberately hard to look someone up unless you're logged in. Here's what still works on each, what doesn't, and the one method that covers all three at once.

VSCO

Why it's hard: the in-app search requires an account, and VSCO removed most public discovery features.

Works Direct profile URL

VSCO profiles are public at vsco.co/USERNAME. If you know the exact handle, type that into a browser and the gallery loads without a login. No account, no app.

Works Search-engine operator

Search site:vsco.co "name or handle". Google indexes a fair number of VSCO galleries, especially ones with a bio. Misses accounts with no text.

Doesn't "VSCO viewer" sites

Most third-party "VSCO profile viewer" tools are either scraping the same public URL (so they add nothing) or are ad-filled and occasionally malicious. Skip them.

Not sure of the exact handle?

Run the name you do know through a bulk username checker; it tests vsco.co/handle along with hundreds of other sites and tells you whether the profile exists before you visit. The dedicated VSCO username search page does exactly that.

Linktree

Why it's hard: Linktree has no user search at all. Pages are meant to be reached from a bio link, not found.

Works Direct URL

Every Linktree is at linktr.ee/USERNAME. Most people use the same handle as their main social account, so try that first.

Works Search operator

site:linktr.ee "name" catches pages where the person's display name or bio is indexed. Works well for creators and businesses, poorly for private individuals.

Works Follow the bio

If you already have one of their profiles (Instagram, TikTok), the Linktree is usually the link in the bio. Fastest route when it applies.

Doesn't Searching by real name inside Linktree

There's no such feature, and no third-party site has a complete index.

For a handle you're unsure about, the Linktree username checker confirms whether a page exists at that name in seconds.

Discord

Why it's hard: Discord has no global user directory. You can only see people who share a server with you, and even then only by username, not the 18-digit ID most guides insist on.

Works Username search inside a shared server

If you're in any server with the person, the member list search (top right of the member panel) accepts partial usernames and display names. No ID needed.

Works Discord lookup by username, without an ID

Since Discord dropped the #0000 discriminators, usernames are unique. A few community lookup tools accept a plain username and return the public profile data (avatar, creation date, badges). Discord's own API only exposes this by ID, so those tools are doing a username → ID resolution on their end; reliability varies week to week.

Works Cross-platform check

Discord usernames are reused on other platforms more than almost any other handle. Checking the same name on Steam, Twitch, Reddit and GitHub often finds the person faster than searching Discord itself. The Discord username search page runs that cross-check.

Doesn't "Find any Discord user by display name" sites

Display names aren't unique and aren't searchable through any public API. Any site claiming otherwise is guessing or scraping servers it has bots in, which is a very small slice of Discord.

The method that covers all three

Every workaround above comes down to the same thing: guess the handle, then check whether a profile exists at the platform's URL pattern. A bulk username search automates exactly that across 600+ sites, VSCO, Linktree and Discord included, and shows you every match in about a minute, with no account on any of the platforms.

  1. Type the username (or your best guess) into the WhatsMyName search.
  2. Scan the results for the three platforms above plus anything else that lights up.
  3. Open the matches and confirm it's the right person before relying on them.

That last step matters. A match means a profile with that name exists, not that it's the person you're looking for. The beginner's guide to username OSINT covers how to verify a match properly.
